An introduction tp Pask and Bonehead

Tonight we played a 2100point game, the Crimson Slaughter took on the Imperial Guard, after a few defeats the Imperium has sent Pask and his bullgrins, led by Bonehead, to quieten the sector.
We played end to end over a bombed city scape battlefield using the maelstrom escalation game set up.
Plenty of fun was had on both sides, Chaos Raptors landed right next to Pasks tank, and endured two full turns of shooting, one melta gun guy made SEVEN saves on the bounce then fluffed his penetrating hit on Pasks flank! The bullgrins, along with their chanting Priest made short work of a unit of Chaos Marines. One Marine champion with power fist took down a hovering Vendetta- he's now being promoted.
Right through the game the Crimson Slaughter were on top, points wise, however, the inability to dispose of tanks was their downfall and on turn 6 the Imperium took 5 points pushing them into the lead, the Crimson Slaughter only had 4 figures left on the table. Final victory to the Imperium 17-13.

Monday 2 January 2017

Well it's 2017 and time for a new season of gaming activities- shows coming round again to look forward to are Vapnatak at York, Salute in London and the two/three at Newark. No New Years gaming resolutions for me as I tend to break them before February anyway, there's plenty of armies being built and new rules to get my head round, however I would like to get more games in and with this in mind Craig brought his Salamanders round today for a 40k 1500point bash. Craig is concentrating on his Sallies at the moment and building reinforcements/ options for his army hence the unpainted figures on the table.

Over view, corner to corner set up.

First blood for The Crimson Slaughter, nice shooting from the Land Raider 'Lorgars Gift'

Sallies drop pod lands right in the middle of The Crimson Slaughter deployment-

Result- one blown up Rhino!!

Sallies General getting surrounded by a Dark Apostle and his possessed bodyguard, Kranon and his possessed bodyguard can be seen in the background mopping up a 10 man squad, this combat carried on for three full turns, eventually the Salamanders were wiped out but not before doing a lot of damage to the Crimson Slaughter elite units.

The Centurions arrive, this could be the turning point of the battle.
The Centurions blast apart Lorgars Gift in one round of shooting but are ambushed by a squad of marines sat in a shrouded Rhino. The Centurions are weak in combat and were wiped out.

Famous last words- "I'll fire my plasma pistol, I won't roll a 1"

By the end of turn six there wasn't much left of either side, however The Crimson Slaughter held the most objectives and came out on top!
I now remember why I like 40k so much, nothings ever over until the last die stops rolling, brilliant game to start the season.
